About

Welcome to Etherun

Etherun is a land caught between memory and myth — where elemental forces light hearths and boil kettles, but where deeper magic stirs ancient fears. Sprawling forests breathe with forgotten rituals. Swamps whisper reflections that aren't yours. Great deserts cradle the bones of long-fallen giants and charred relics of magic wars.

Most who live here tend their fields or barter in broken ruins. Magic hums in the background of daily life — a spark to start a fire, a gesture to fill a bucket. But some are born different.

Once in a generation, someone awakens to vast, untamed power — enough to unmake cities and fracture nations. These rare, feared individuals are hunted, hidden, or held up as divine. Most vanish. But when they do act, the world shifts.

The paintings in this archive are their visions.

What Is The Archive?

The Worldshaper’s Archive is a growing collection of illustrated visions — landscapes from Etherun as seen through the eyes of those rare mages who walk the line between myth and reality.

Each painting is a glimpse of what was, is, or might be.
Each comes with its own fragment of lore — a whispered legend, a recovered record, or a half-remembered dream.

They are not maps. They are moments.

About the Creator

Hi — I'm Paolo, a fantasy environment illustrator with a background in traditional watercolor and a deep passion for worldbuilding. I shape Etherun — quietly and obsessively.

My work blends atmospheric storytelling with the texture and subtlety of painted worlds. I build places you can almost hear, almost remember, almost fear.

The World of Etherun

  • Magic is a daily tool for most — used to stoke fires or purify water — but only a select few possess innate, devastating forms of it.

  • Artifacts from a long-lost civilization offer immense power, but most are lost to time and dust. Their use shortens lives — and corrupts them.

  • Factions vie for control, secrets, or survival. Some hunt mages, others delve into forbidden ruins, and some simply kill for coin.

  • The Races of Etherun include humans (driven and diverse), elves (rooted and distrustful), trolls (brutal and splintered), giants (slow, peaceful), and the Nameless, an arcane, immortal race that speaks only through visions.

  • Etherun itself is vast and fragmented. Maps are rare. Ruins outnumber cities. Trust is as precious as gold.

Why the Archive Exists

This project is both a story and a sanctuary — for those who love the feeling of standing on the edge of something ancient. If you’ve ever stared at a painting and imagined the wind moving in it, or wondered what happened in a ruin long after the people left, then you’re home here.

You're not just buying artwork. You’re collecting glimpses of another world.
